I do not remember who said that the silence after the music is still music. Holding back applause for me is a way of keeping the moment of grace intact.

It’s an absolute pleasure to share some minutes with you - so far, Colchester, London still to come - and to read your thoughts on this journey. Love your writing voice as much as your singing one. Looking forward to the audio book ….

Best highlight of 2024?

Tom McRae at the Exeter Phoenix.

Same age as you Tom and realising that the important things in life are time with the important people in your life. Relax on that trip, make sure to take time out and always be aware of what an amazing night you have given so many people around the country this year.

Been coming to your shows for 20 years, its always a highlight of any year but this was something else altogether. Sharing your journey for a little while with others who feel the same is a light in the dark - a beautiful act of resistance -- thank you.

I saw you in Belfast last Friday. I've seen you in Scotland and Newcastle in tours gone by. Wales the next one, then out into Europe. A safety net for the last 20+ years. It's a comfort to know that there's still plenty you have to say. Thanks Tom

I came to see you perform in Hebden Bridge; it was my 39th birthday. Thank you for heralding in the final year of my 30s with the soundtrack of the past 20 years of my life 💚

The minutes go by slowly or quickly depending on the situation you find yourself in… In a car with the rain hitting the windows, it can be a time of reflection, the intensity of driving, the pattering of the raindrops…
